I own a variable speed model, It is hard to describe the quality of a Burr King grinder, first of all it is reliable, rugged, user friendly, very smooth operation at low or high speed without any vibration.

I find the machine is very powerful and it can very quickly take care of profiling of blade blanks, it is an excellent grinder specially if you are fine grinding the bevels the slow speeds and no vibration smooth running will help you to retain a very crisp grind line. I have a Leeson motor on my machine and it has proven very reliable, yes I remember a very long time ago the grinder stopped working, all that had happened was it blow two fuses and since the fuse change it has not stopped working.

This was my first grinder and I have a feeling it will be my last.
(2023 Update - It wasn't his last Burr King, he purchased a new Burr King in late 2022)
