Burr King Gets Awardby James Krier
Company Honored For 60 Years
April 21, 2011 - Burr King Manufacturing received the Founder's Award from the Missouri Association of Manufactures (MAM) on April 20th during the associations annual meeting in Springfield, Missouri.
The Founder's Award, named in honor of the late Jack T. Gentry, the association's founder, is awarded to member businesses that have been in business at least 30 years, and currently in their tenth year anniversary cycle. Burr King Manufacturing is celebrating its 60th year in business in 2011.
During the awards ceremony Burr King's second generation owner Don MacCarthy, Jr. took the opportunity to thank his employees for their commitment to providing the best services and products in the industry. MacCarthy also accepted the award on behalf of his late father Don "Mac" MacCarthy for the intuition of designing a product that would still be in production 60 years after its conception.
